Sunday Funday: Small Town

The church I go to is located near an adorable small town so my friend and I decided to do a little shopping at the boutiques and grab a bite to eat after service.

I absolutely love little boutiques because they have the cutest unique jewlery!
At the boutiques I purchased these turquoise earrings that are so simple and classy!
I also purchased these light pink chandelier earrings. I know, these a little big BUT I couldn't pass them up because they would go perfect for my birthday! I'm not reviling what my theme is going to be until it gets closer and I start purchasing items so I can share it with y'all! :)

"What consumes your prayer life? What you need or what you want? What you want says a lot about you." -Pastor Jacob Diaz, a quote my pastor said today in church & thought it was so good/true.

OOTD: Baby Shower

My pastor and his lovely wife are expecting there 3rd child but 1st baby girl! So today was the celebration/baby shower of her soon to be arrival!
Knowing they're expecting a little girl I decided to go with something light and girly and of course, with some pink.
I recently bought a lace Cynthia Rowley shirt [and under the lace is a light pink material] from Tj Maxx so I paired that with a light pink necklace I purchased a while back from Forever 21. And of course I wore my Alex and Ani bangles and studded Forever 21 bangle.
[Yep, and I feel like I look like I'm trying to be super woman. Oops.]

Je t'aime

My absolute favorite show, as much of y'all know, is gossip girl. I feel in love with it a couple of years ago and still to this day watch reruns. [Yep, I'm obsessed.] On the show I noticed a pretty cookie called Macaron's and since then, I've be infatuated with them! Unfortunately, the closest bakery that caries them is a little ways out so when I'm able to get some, it completely makes my day.
I was able to get some recently and I ordered 2 Margarita flavors (the colorful ones), 2 Pistachio, Strawberry and honey lavender. :)
You can say I'm pretty much in love with these delightful cookies!
[From Pinterest]

Recently I also purchased this lovely glass lamp. It sadly didn't come with a shade and the shade I purchased with it didn't give off any light so it's shadeless right now. But I love the stand so much and the classiness it gives off!

Barbie/Bubblegum Pink Mani

I'm not too sure why I love having my nails painted all the time. Sometimes I feel like it could be a bad thing because of all the chemicales nail polishes have...but I just can't help it.

Anyways, venting aside, I got my nails done yesterday and I absolutely love them! I went in knowing I wanted glitter and pink but this pink was exactly what I had in mind. It somewhat reminds me of barbie/bubblegum but whatever, I love both of those so that doesn't bother me! :) I wish I had written down what brand it was but I got distracted by talking that I unfortunately forgot to look. *Oops*
But I think it fits perfectly into the awkward stages of leaving winter behind and heading into nice, hot, colorful summer, I love it!

Sunday Funday: Weekend Purchases

You know that happy moment when you just bought knew stuff and are so...happy? That's how I feel right now! Didn't go too crazy but made some purchases I love!

Sephora recenlty had a 15% off coupon if you were signed up with there beauty insider rewards card, so I was able to buy some new blush! I love the brand Tarte. I have used their eyeliner for the past 2 years and it has never let me down so I'm excited to finally use some of there other products!
It's somewhat difficult for me to use blush because my cheeks get rosy very easily if I'm hot or nervous which sometimes makes wearing blush odd. So I didn't want anything too pink since I already have pink cheeks but just something to where you know I'm wearing blush. So I decided to go with a peach color called "Blissful".
(I'll take about my blouse later in this post!)

Also, I went to Nordstrom where I found this cute ring for only $12! :)

And last but not least I bought a blouse! I've been into the whole chevron style lately so when I saw this top at Charlotte Russe [Chevron Stripe Chiffon Blouse] I had to get it!

Little Cactus

I've been looking through decorating magazines and sites which got me into a design mood.
So I decided to go make a trip to Lowe's to look for some tiny cactus's I could place in this little glass house I have. I found these 3 cactus plants that I thought were so adorable and fit my vision perfectly! (Came out to $10).
I'm so happy with how it looks so far but still have to find a container to put the plants in. I'm hoping to find a see-through glass container so it doesn't take away from the effect the house gives off.
Hoping this inspires you to start doing some little crafts around your house and making some different changes. Its crazy what some little decorating changes can do to your house! :)

My Reads

Being a Christian, something I find that you need to do daily is read the word of God. You don't know how much that truly helps you. Even though it was written over a 2,000 years ago, God knows what He was talkin about, it still relates so much even now in the 20th century.
Along with the bible, I also read a devotional written by Sarah Young called Jesus Calling. It is such an awesome devo so if you're looking for one I would definitely recommend this!
Recently, I found a book called Lady in Waiting written by Jackie Kendall and Debby Jones. I've only gotten to page 4 but woah, it's awesome and has already really spoken to me.

In the front of the book it says, "Becoming God's best while waiting for Mr. Right". And honestly in my opinion, I think single ladies should read this before rushing into settling down. Something that I've read so far that I thought was so true was in the beginning when they talked about how we can't find fulfillment in man but only in God and until we have that relationship with God and have Him mold us into who He wants us to be, you will be searching for happiness and never truly find it.
Felt like I should just share with y'all what I read, I really hope they helped y'all! :)

The little white dress

Things have been a little crazy, so sorry for not being able to post lately.

This weekend I went out of town with a close friend of mine for her friends birthday dinner. We kept going back and forth on what we should wear so we made a quick run to H&M real quick to see what we would find.
When I went to the H&M in New York I saw this pretty white lace dress that I loved but for some reason I didn't buy it. I came back home regretting not buying it so when my friend and I went to the H&M here in Texas I was hoping I would find that little white dress...and I did! [For only $20!] I was so so happy and I definitely learned that I shouldn't over think about buying stuff, I should just do it ha :)
I bought the pink necklace I paired it with at a boutique there and paired it with some brown Guess wedges.
[My friends dress is also from H&M.]

Sodom and Gomorrah

I've been wanting to share something with y'all that's been in my head for the past couple of weeks now.
It's the story of Sodom and Gomorrah.

I was sitting in my grandparents living room watching the History Channel's 'The Bible' series and they were telling the story about Sodom and Gomorrah. Out of all the bible stories I've heard when I was growing up, you would think I've heard about this story, but I never have. So when the story was going on I turned to my sister to ask her what was going on.
After the show was over, I was more interested so I opened the bible to read about it. Genesis 19.

Sodom and Gomorrah is a city that was full of sin that God destroyed. But before He destroyed it, God sent two angels down to save some people that were not committing any sin in this sinful city. The people He saved was a man named Lot, his two daughters and his wife.
Genesis 19:17 "As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said, “Flee for your lives! Don’t look back, and don’t stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!”
But someone did look back, Lot's wife. As soon as she looked back God turned her into a pillar of salt because she disobeyed him.
That spoke out to me so much, not the city being destroyed but Lot's wife looking back (even though it's only a sentence long in the bible). So many times we tend to look back, look back into something that God has taken us out of. Lot's wife looked back at the city full of sin that God saved them front and God just simply asked for them not to look back, but she did. So many times God saves us and tells us don't look back, but we do.
Remember that God saved you from that. He took you out of 'the city of sin' to help you and rescue you, why would you want to look back?
He has better plans for you then what you have for yourself. Trust Him and He will take you and guide you through this life.
