Happy [Pre] Easter!

We had a pre-Easter this year since some family members are driving back sunday to return to there regular routines. Being outside was so nice and relaxing, it turned out to be such a beautiful day!

The colors of Easter on my clothes.

Made these rice krispy nests. I added some fruity pebbles to give it some color, coconut and dyed it green to look like grass and jelly beans for the 'eggs'.

My best friend from Arkansas came back home for the weekend to spend Easter with her family. Over spring break she went on a mission trip with her Physician Assistant school to help out with some villages in Guatemala. Seeing all of her pictures and hearing the stories we're so amazing. To see her doing the work of the Lord is so wonderful and I couldn't be more proud of her and the way she is letting God use her. Oh and she surprised me with a beautiful scarf from Guatemala! How awesome!! :)
And tomorrow, we celebrate Easter! :)

My Easter Polish

Slowly by slowly I'm getting ready for Easter.
I went out and bought an Easter-y Essie polish since I only really have pink polish and wanted something different. So I decided to go with Essie 'bond with whomever' purple. I usually don't wear purples or blues or...anything besides the color scheme of pink so it's a little different to see this on my nails but I do love it. Essie is such an awesome brand that whatever color you polish it looks amazing.

My friend and I bought our Essie polish at the same time but she bought a pinkish Essie polish. We added a line of dots on one nail using a bobby pin to give it a little more of an Easter feel.

And last but not least, yesterday we say a little black shadow moving on our front porch so I went outside to see what it was. This cute little guy was just relaxin on our porch. They say that cat's can sent where there homes are so I decided to not keep it because it didn't look like a stray at all. I tried to feed it but just smelt the food and walked away so I'm pretty sure it had a home it just ate at. It was nice to meet you little fella.

My Weekend

I was able to go see some of my family for the weekend which is always so nice and sweet.

I had asked one of my cousins where the nearest cupcake place was and the next day she brought us the most yummiest cupcakes! (I had red velvet, on the right.)

My grandmas chandler she's had ever since I can remember.

And of course, I can't visit without having some yummy pan de ducle (sweet bread).
I hope y'all had such a wonderful weekend! :)

Pink Ombré Cupcakes

My friend and I have been wanting to bake for some time now so we finally decided to have a baking sesh and make pink ombré cupcakes.

We used a plain 'vanilla' Betty Crocker cake mix.

We then added food coloring, I forgot the brand but the box said 'neon' which is what color pink we used. We added 2 drops to the bottom one, 4 drops to the middle and I wanna say around 6 drops for the top hot pink. [Next time I definitely want to go a tad darker with the bottom color where I only put 2 drops because it didn't get as dark as I wanted and basically cooked as white.]

We layered the batter putting the dark pink on the bottom and working our way up to the solid white 'vanilla' on top. And ta-da, our cupcakes! I'm actually a little surprised and proud of how well they turned out. I am definitely going to be trying this again! :)

New York I love you...

As spring break comes to a sad end and school arrives in the morning, I look back at how much of an awesome experience it was to be in New York.
Living in Texas practically my whole life, you get used to the laid back, casual and simple life. There's not too much hustle and bustle here. But when I stepped foot out of the terminal in New York, crowds surrounded me while people speed walked all around me. What was going on? Oh nothing, it was just a regular day in the big apple.
I am definitely not used to that lifestyle but surprisingly, I can proudly say I would not mind living in it. Of course I love my Texas and the country music, boots and food that comes with it, but going to New York was not too bad. I loved the different lifestyle that was there. The fast-past fashion-at-every-corner lifestyle. Here in Texas, you don't normally see people all dressed up unless there's a wedding or a special occasion, but in the marvelous city of New York, people were walking the streets and subways as if it was there own runway. How neat it would be to live there! Ladies in huge fur coats and guys in ties and suits, I couldn't help but to stare at them in awe of there style. If only I could dress like that here and not get funny looks.
To go back and visit would be so much fun and I look forward to the day I can go back.

Sign in the airport. The colors describe New York's style perfectly.

In the city that never sleeps.

And of course, HAD to go to Ladurée!!

The macarons from Ladurée were simply delicious and amazing!
[The Flavors: B to T: 2 Raspberry, 1 Chocolate, 1 Marie Antoinette, 1 Pistachio,  1 Rose Petal,  1 Coconut, & 1 Vanilla]

My perfect view of New York from the plane. Until next time...

NY here I come

The day is finally here...tomorrow is the day I wake up and head off to the big apple. I've been counting down the days so to say it's finally here is crazy. You always forget how fast time really does fly by.

I tried not to make things too complicated while packing and to just keep my outfits very simple. I have a feeling I'm going to be wearing a jacket majority of the time which is why I wasn't too concerned about matching and taking a bunch of cute blouses.
This is the view of my very crammed luggage. I tried to fit as much as I could and...it worked. (and don't worry, those teal bottoms are pajamas) I have a very neutral color scheme of clothes going on here which makes it a lot more easy to mix and match with things. If I wanted to get all dressy my luggage would have been overflowing!

I'm taking my purse as my carry on which has my satchal I'll be wearing throughout NY, a scarf in case I get cold, and of course, spirals and books to read for tests I have when I get back. The joy of being a college student, reading and studying wherever you go ha.
I also laid out my clothes for the flight which would be my boots, skinny jeans, a peach long sleeve with a Columbia vest and of course, my Alex and Ani bracelets.
I'm so excited for this trip and I can't wait to tell y'all all about it when I get back!
Hoping y'all have a wonderful and safe couple of days. Hope y'all visit back to read all about my trip :)
