Summer, it was good while it lasted.

It is officially time to buckle down and say good-bye to summer. It was definitely a terrific summer filled with shopping, family, church and friends but even though I will still do/have those things in my life, school will sadly take up majority of my time. [BUT don't worry I'm still going to blog!] I'm excited to start a new season with y'all and share fall fashion as well as casual fashion!

Sunday Funday

Today is my wonderful mama's birthday! So very thankful for her and everything she has done for us! For all of the late night conversations and prayer, she has definitely helped me become the women I am today. Love you mom!

Disclaimer: I'm writing this in the early AM without any sleep so I apologize in advance if I'm not making any sense.

I sadly have a significant event that happened tonight...I officially got stung by a pesky wasp. I was hoping to go my whole life without getting stung, but it happened.

I was happily walking across my yard to get in my car when I felt a horrible pain on the bottom of my foot. At first I thought it was just an aunt bite but the pain got worse in seconds, I knew it was more then a little aunt. I brushed the bottom of my foot and saw the stinger from the mean wasp. I ended up going to the hospital to make sure it wasn't poisons and that I didn't have an allergic reaction and I'm happy to say I didn't have either! Thank you Jesus!!

So now I lay awake with my foot throbbing hoping this pain goes away soon. Its safe to say the rest of my day tomorrow will be filled with magazines, movies and sleep since I haven't slept all night.

Bye bye old lining!

Our house was built a while back so when we moved in, there was a lot of remodeling/updating we had to do. One thing I kept putting off was the lining in my bathroom. Its pretty noticeable that the owners before us had a way different taste then what we have! There was old print that they put down which always made me feel...well, old. 

So I finally put some lining in it that fits me. I found this lining at my HEB for only $4 for two rolls!! I lined my medicine cabinet, drawers, and bottom cabinets. [The pic below is one of the bottom cabinets.] Even though it's not a drastic change, it has definitely changed my mood when I open the drawers! Crazy how something like this can help right!?

Sunday Funday

I know...I'm not posting this on Sunday but yesterday was filled with painting and cleaning.

We still own our old house and we decided that it needed some fresh paint since it was looking a little sad!

I think I earned my spots!

After a long day of painting I was looking through my new Glamour magazine and found this ad on Ovarian cancer! Seeing this and seeing how it's finally becoming recognized and making women aware is bittersweet. Wishing my aunt was around to see this.

It's not goodbye...

Tomorrow one of my best friends is leaving the lone star state to start a new chapter in her life in Arkansas. I couldn't be more excited for her and the wonderful things God is going to do in her life while she is over there! Definitely going to miss her but "It's not goodbye, just see you later."
