New Years Eve

As the new year approaches tonight, I hope y'all cherish the memories from 2012 and get excited for the new memories of 2013!

I went to a local farmers market where I found my favorite dessert...delicious macaron's! The box had strawberry and champagne, just for new years!

After the farmers market my friend and I went and ate at the Corner Bakery where I had a yummy sandwich and peppermint mocha!

Did my nails just in time for new years! (Sally Hansen Nail Polish Strips)
Bye 2012...Hello 2013!

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

These past days have been filled with last minute shopping, sending out Christmas cards, eating sweets and drinking tons of yummy Starbucks. And my mom, knowing how I love Barbie, bought me an adorable Barbie ornament [lower right].

Loretta sitting on some Christmas lights last year...
And Loretta sitting on the same Christmas lights this year. Hasn't she gotten so big!? Time goes by so fast.
I hope everyone is keeping warm and getting into the Christmas spirit. But in the midst of all of this wonderful joy, let's not forget why we have this wonderful holiday! :)

Two years.

Looking back on where I was two years ago, I never thought I would be where I am today. Two years ago I thought I knew what my life was going to be like. I thought I had it all figured out. But in a flash, it all got ripped away from me. I had no other plan, no other vision for my life. I was confused, hurt, and heartbroken. At such a low place I knew I couldn't pick up these broken pieces by myself. I was weak and I knew the only one that could help me was God. Leaving God for something that I had made my everything, I wasn't sure He was going to forgive me.

How can He forgive me after everything I've done? I don't deserve anything. I don't deserve His love. I don't deserve His forgiveness. My mind was going 100 miles per hour but I couldn't help but to think, "I've strayed too faraway, He would never forgive me."
But as I continued to press closer to God, I realized that I was wrong. That since the beginning, when I didn't see it, He was always with me.

Looking back on where I thought I would be, the million things that could have happened but didn't. The way that God had his hand over me the whole time and I thought He had abandoned me, I now see where He was in all of the chaos. He protected me because He had different plans for me then my own. I can't help but to sit here in awe and thank God for saving me. I'm so thankful for Him loving me. I'm so thankful for Him forgiving me. And most of all, I'm so thankful for Him never giving up and leaving me.

If you ever think that you're so far away or have done too much wrong that you can never be forgiven, stop. Remember that God died on the cross because He loved us that much. If you're thinking, He doesn't love me, He wouldn't forgive me, think about what He did for you 2,000 years ago. He washed away all of our sins making us white as snow. Now that if you were the only person on this earth, that He would still die just for you because He loves you that much.

"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinner, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Saul and David

From "A Tale of Three Kings" by Gene Edwards

"King Saul sought to destroy David, but his only success was that he became the instrument of God to put to death the Saul who roamed about in the caverns of David's own soul. Yes, David was virtually destroyed in the process, but this had to be. Otherwise the Saul in him would have survived."

In the bible when they're talking about Saul and David, David never tried to pick up a spear and throw it back at Saul. Instead, he dogged each one. Its like in the bible when it says if someone "If someone slaps you on the right cheek, offer the other cheek also." (Matthew 5:39). Yes, it's easier sad then done but if we give attitude back or do the same thing, we will never learn and let that part of ourselves fade away. Instead it will continue to be with us and we will continue to have that attitude. God created us to be more then that. He made us to be like Him, not perfect but to be like Him and close to how he was.

Happy Thanksgiving

I hope y'all all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with all of your loved ones! My thanksgiving was definitely nice and relaxing. I was able to spend it with my immediate family where we watched football, laid around and played apples to apples. :)

Woke up early to watch my best friend perform in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! So proud of her!

Decoration on our Thanksgiving table!

And of course my sweet baby kitty, I tried to put a pilgrims hat on her but she wasn't too happy about it.

I also went black friday shopping and bought a couple of things, some I can't show on here because they're gifts! Our first stop though was Target where I bought this dvd's for myself for Christmas! :)

"Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name. For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations." Psalm 100:4-5

Sunday Funday...New lip shades

Hello again, I know...shocking, another post so soon! But I HAVE to share with y'all my new lip products I bought!
So recently I have been super into finding some new lip products because I'm getting tired of gloss. For some reason gloss is starting to remind me of high school and now I want something different! So I've decide to turn to lipstick and tinted Chapstick.
I've heard tons of good things about Mary Kay and MAC so I finally decide to give them a try and I have to say, they're pretty amazing!

The color for the Mary Kay Tinted Lip balm is Cherry Cerise. The color for MAC lipstick is Cremesheen 'Shanghai Spice'

I had tried on my cousins MAC lipstick and fell in love and went the next day to go buy it! When I put it on it looks very nude and natural but it gives my lips a little tint. It's perfect though because the tint is not drastic which I love for those relaxing days. I also love the Mary Kay balm because it gives my lips a tinted red color which is prefect for special occasions when I don't want to wear a bright red or a bright pink. Another plus is that it has spf 15!

A little sparkle on my wrist

Yesterday my cousin and I took a little trip to a small town about 30 minutes from where I live. She's never been to the little town so it was fun relaxing and getting to show her around it! It was definitely a nice quiet time away from all the commotion! They had so many precious cafes and boutiques and I seriously had to refrain from buying everything! I did buy one thing though which was this Turquoise sparkly cross bracelet. I have been seeing them all over Pinterest and was looking for one but they all seemed to be around $15 and I found this one for $9!

This was one of the cute cafe's. I ate the most delicious 'Brookie' which is a cookie brownie! First time trying it and it was yummy!

After a long day of shopping and eating my cousin and I stopped to take a picture. :)

Loretta

Y'all are probably going to think I sound like the crazy cat lady...but I'm writing this post about my kitty! I don't think I ever shared with y'all how she came into our lives and I have been wanting to share with y'all the story for some time now.
I was NEVER a cat person. I thought they were scary and not very nice so when I got Loretta all of my friends and family were in shock.
My grandparents had a stray cat that would always be at there house and so they sorta took her in. They started to feed her and play with her then one day they didn't see her for a while. Then after her hiding she came out from under there house to eat and they saw a little kitty stumbling behind her. We just so happened to be visiting them so when I saw this kitty I was in love...and started to cry. She was covered in fleas and her eyes were covered in puss. I didn't know what was wrong with her so I immediately took her a bath, gave her flea medicine and then took her to the vet. They gave me some medicine and gave her the shots she needed and over time she started to recover.
As cheesy as it sounds, she really did change my outlook on cats. I absolutely love them now!
[And little fun fact, she was born without her tail just like her mama!]
We kept her in a little box with a heating pad under her so she would be warm.

Precious baby, she had the biggest eyes.

We bought her this blue mouse that made noise, she LOVED it!

This is when her all white coat started fading away.

And her now.

Random but I'm so excited for my new magazine & catalog!! Can't wait to see the new styles and share them with y'all!

Sunday Funday

The retreat was absolutely amazing! The country was beautiful and peaceful. God really did some awesome stuff and moved in a lot of our life's. Excited to see what He has in store for us.
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden...Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:13, 16

Camp. Camp. Camp.

This weekend I'm going on a retreat with my church, YAY! I'm super excited about it but one thing I'm nervous for is...drumroll...the packing. I tend to always get so frustrated with packing because I never know what to wear! *breath*
Below is the basics: Snacks, Camelback water bottle, EOS chopstick, Bible, notebook, and pens.

Now below is the beauty basics: Waterproof Covergirl Mascara, Smash box mascara, Tarte eyeliner, NYC eyelash curler, Olay moisturizer, Dove deodorant, VS Pink body spray, Neutragena face wipes, Emma Jay hair ties, Johnson's body care lotion, Bath & Body works 'Paris' body gel, & St. Ives face wash.

And like most of y'all are expecting to see next is my outfits, but the truth is, I haven't even started packing that yet. [oops] I usually do it a couple of hours before I depart because the rush of having to hurry up and pick outfits is fun & makes it a tad easier instead of me sitting & pondering about it! I'm thinking just jeans/shorts and t-shirts though. Guess y'all will just have to see when I get back and post pictures! :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! :)

Sunday Funday, went to the beach

Hey y'all! Hope everyone is having a wonderful 3 day weekend! Today I came back from a relaxing 2 days at the beach. The weather was amazing and the sand was perfectly sandy, it was the perfect getaway from all of this studying.

Here are some snapshots of my weekend:

To end the perfect beach weekend, I had some amazing Abuleta chocolate milk. It was perfect with this wonderful cold whether that's starting to come in. And of course, I had to top off my yummy hot chocolate with a peep pumpkin, I had to get into the fall spirit somehow! :)

Falling into Fall

Happy first day of fall everyone! This is my favorite season, it's when leaves start changing colors, and the hotness from summer finally fades away. To celebrate, I decided to fall into fall the right way, by baking!
I found this yummy recipe [here],

Pumpkin Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter; softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup pure pumpkin puree
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup white chocolate chips
1 cup dried cherries; roughly chopped

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line your baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper.
2. Combine flour, oats, baking soda, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice and salt in medium bowl. Beat butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
3. Add pumpkin, egg and vanilla extract; mix well. Add flour mixture; combine until all ingredients are incorporated. Fold in white chocolate chips and dried cherries.
4. Drop by rounded tablespoons onto prepared baking sheets.
5. Bake for 12-14 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes.

[I added more pumpkin pie spice to my cookies to bring out the pumpkin flavor. I also didn't add chocolate chips, I just added craisins.]
[And silly me, I didn't read the directions correctly and instead of adding 1 cup of pumpkin puree...I added one whole can. That's why they look a little orange. But they still taste yummy!]

Hope y'all are having a wonderful first day of fall! :)
